Description
This project contains data collected in conjunction with the project Monitoring effect of management actions on Dracocephalum ruyschiana in Norway. The project was established in 2023 and aims to study the effects of management practices on Dracocephalum ruyschiana, a threatened (VU) and prioritised species. A monitoring locality was established at a D. ruyschiana population near Nordre Horgen, Frogn, Viken. Here, 20 1x1 m vegetation plots where established: - 5 plots with D. ruyschiana that were later mowed - 5 plots without D. ruyschiana that were later mowed - 5 plots with D. ruyschiana that were not mowed - 5 plots without D. ruyschiana that were not mowed At each plot, the cover of all vascular plants, the cover and presence of D. ruyschiana, and other vegetation parameters (e.g., vegetation cover, vegetation height) was recorded. The same plots were revisited in 2024.
Data Records
The data in this sampling event resource has been published as a Darwin Core Archive (DwC-A), which is a standardized format for sharing biodiversity data as a set of one or more data tables. The core data table contains 40 records.
2 extension data tables also exist. An extension record supplies extra information about a core record. The number of records in each extension data table is illustrated below.
This IPT archives the data and thus serves as the data repository. The data and resource metadata are available for download in the downloads section. The versions table lists other versions of the resource that have been made publicly available and allows tracking changes made to the resource over time.
Versions
The table below shows only published versions of the resource that are publicly accessible.

Sampling Methods
In 2023, 20 permanent vegetation monitoring plots were established at the site. Plots were selected such that 10 had presence of D. ruyschiana, while 10 plots with similar vegetation and soil conditions that did not have D. ruyschiana. At each plot, the cover of each vascular plant was estimated and the number of fertile, vegetative, and seedling D. ruyschiana plants were counted. In addition, the presence/absence of D. ruyschiana was recordered for 16 25x25cm squares within each plot. In addition, the cover of bryophytes, lichens, litter, bare soil/rock was recorded. Vegetation height was measured in the four corners of each plot. We further registered the cover of shrubs (80 - 200cm height) and trees (>200cm). The same plots were revisted in 2024 and vegetation was recoreded with the same methodology as in 2023.
