Description

Observations of dispersal from plantations of two alien conifer species, Pinus contorta and Picea x lutzii, to natural habitats as part of the project "Kartlegging av spredning av fremmede bartrær".

Data Records

The data in this occurrence resource has been published as a Darwin Core Archive (DwC-A), which is a standardized format for sharing biodiversity data as a set of one or more data tables. The core data table contains 873 records.

This IPT archives the data and thus serves as the data repository. The data and resource metadata are available for download in the downloads section. The versions table lists other versions of the resource that have been made publicly available and allows tracking changes made to the resource over time.

Project Data

The aim of this project was to develope a cost-effective method for mapping dispersal of alien conifer species from plantations based on field sampling of Pinus contorta and Picea x lutzii.

Title Kartlegging av spredning av fremmede treslag
Funding Miljødirektoratet
Study Area Description Dispersal of alien conifers were mapped around 12 plantations in Hedmark (Pinus contorta), Møre og Romsdal (Pinus contorta) and Nordland (Picea x lutzii).

Sampling Methods

All individuals of Pinus contorta and Picea x lutzii found outside plantations were mapped in a 500 x 500 m square with the mother plantation in the center. Other alien conifers, as well as red-listed species found in the vicinity of plantations, were also included.

Study Extent Dispersal was mapped during the summer of 2015.
